PERFECT SPOT

Mister Tom believes that Eddie and I protect the house during the day from roving bands of evil doers intent on stealing the upholstered furniture. He believes this because often times he will find us on the upholstered furniture. He praises us for our constant vigilance. What he does not know is that we mostly snooze during the daytime when he is away. I decided to write a poem about finding the “perfect spot” to sleep.

PERFECT SPOT (Copyright 2013 by Buster J. Brown)

Much effort is expended,
For the effect intended.

Be it couch, bed, or floor,
No space to ignore.

To keep comfort in harmony,
I search quite purposefully.

Warm days searching cool spots,
Cool days warmth is sought.

Sometimes sunshine on carpet,
Or on top of a blanket.

‘Neath table or chair,
My comfort to insure.

Perfect spot once found,
Sweet dreams are my crown.
