Hi, this is Buster. One of my and Eddie’s biggest pals is Uncle John. He is the people critter who got me into the dog rescue in the north. When Uncle John first saw me in the Mississippi woods he told Mister Tom, “that’s a good dog.” He was the one who encouraged me to adopt Mister Tom. On the day Eddie adopted Mister Tom he got to meet Uncle John. We decided to write a short poem about Uncle John.

Our Uncle John to dogs is no stranger,
Thoughts eerily canine, sometimes childlike in nature.

Concerned always about our wellbeing,
Sometimes sarcastic to hide his true feelings.

Eager to hear our latest adventures,
Makes him one of our hugest backers.

Admonitions to keep us from failure,
“Buster, Eddie, don’t be slackers.”

Yet always when he meets and greets us,
We see his demeanor is genuinely joyous.

Generous with pets and an occasional scratch,
He is a pal no one can match.
